Mindset Matters

The greatest battle is fought between your ears. - Jennie Allen

Beloved,

How you think impacts how you live. It is so important to try and start each day by seeking a positive and grounding mindset. A great way to do this is by meditating on the Word of God or engaging in some form of truthful reflection.

What you choose to feed your mind influences your journey towards a life of light or darkness. What does this mean? There is an undeniable truth that the path to inner radiance and personal growth heavily depends on what you consume. Consider what you watch, what you listen to, and who you form bonds with as spiritual foods that fill your soul. This isn’t meant to scare you off, but awaken you to the sensitivities of your existence. You are so important that what you do matters. You don’t have to figure this out on your own, I am here for you, but most of all the Spirit of God is always available to help you navigate certain times and seasons where your decision making is pivotal.

“Be transformed by the renewal of your mind”. (Romans 12:2). The value in which you regard yourself impacts your courage to live a life according to your holiness. What does this mean? How you see yourself dictates how you act. The more you become awakened to how precious you are, the more critical you will become of who and what takes up your time and energy. Not everyone has access to the rare things in life. You, beloved, are rare.

A friendly place to begin examining what you consume is at the start of your days. Think about when you first open your eyes in the morning. What do you see? What do you hear? If it applies, who are you with? Do you wake up and grab your phone and kick off your screen time? Was your rest even restful or are you now rushed into a new day? Did you wake up to a clean and organized space? Or is it cluttered and messy, leaving you feeling unmotivated?

Sweet love, none of these questions are for judgement, but rather for introspection that sparks transformation. It’s necessary that your first breath, first sight, first interactions with the world are those that remind you of the light of life. When you have light within you, you are equipping yourself with adequate armor to conquer the tactics of darkness (Ephesians 6:10-18).

This is a lot of work—so take heart in your efforts. The mind is so powerful, and it takes time to learn it. I pray you garner the strength to face both the beautiful and difficult activities of your mind. May the Spirit of God, constantly remind you that there is an abundance of grace and mercy for you to try again. And may the spirit of creativity and love rest upon you as your life begins to transform into a wonder of the world.

xoxo, Phionna
