A strong woman knows she has strength enough for the journey, but a woman of strength knows that it is in the journey where she will become strong. -Luke Easter
Sister Friend,
Wine Down is dedicated to you and the girls. As women who set our hearts on all things above, it’s easy to forget or neglect making the time to settle down. Unwinding with your community is necessary in the journey. It’s more than okay to plan for fun and cherished occasions among those whom we share purpose.
When women come together, heaven knows that hell quivers. There is something powerful about women who understand love, obedience, sacrifice, and joy. Being a woman of radiance is to embrace all those things with a flare of sophistication and gentleness. When you plan to get together with your community, don't gather to spill the tea, but rather engage in meaningful conversations that revolve around the finer things in life. Even when you’re having fun you are responsible for protecting your inner beauty (1 Peter 3:3-4).
Sometimes when studying scripture, we unknowingly take things too literally or lack the cultural understanding or translation of the time. If you are a woman who prefers to do things on her own, that is okay AND… I gently urge you to consider why did God say, it is not good for man to be alone? (Genesis 2:18). He wasn’t just referring to men and women needing romantic partners, but (hu)mans in general needing companionship.
Yes, there are seasons to walk alone, and there are seasons we need people who we can can lean on. Dedicating Wednesdays or any specific day or time to connecting with a friend(s) is a wonderful and restful thing to do. When you unwind intentionally delve into topics that celebrate the essence of femininity. There is an unexplainable attraction for our ability to embody strength and softness, sensuality and sophistication, power and submission. We are beautifully complex and a wonder waiting to unfold.
I pray you find, immerse, and cherish the sisters that cross your path. May you be a woman among women who understands the amazing grace of being in safe spaces that allow us to surrender, giggle, and dream. May God bless you and protect your loved ones. I pray for peaceful and joyful unwindings with your sisterhood, regardless if you have one now or are still on the journey to finding them. May you believe and never lose hope in knowing that God has people ordained to love you.
